German online takeaway food “Delivery Hero”chase to stirring Uber Eats in Japan

Delivery Hero’s chief executive told Reuters, “Delivery Hero” a German online takeaway food group seeking to challenge market leader Uber Eats when it launches in Japan later this month, planning to deliver a wide range of products.

Niklas Ostberg said in an interview. “We will have a wider selection and faster delivery than our competitors in multiple countries”, “We will properly challenge Uber Eats. Initially we will start with 10,000 restaurants”.

With an initial investment of around 20-30 million euros company (Delivery Hero) the Berlin bases group which operates in more than 40 countries announced the proper plan in previous month to enter his step into the Japanese market which is a huge market in terms of business growth.

Ostberg said he was hoping for regulatory approval by the end of the year for Delivery Hero’s $4 billion deal to buy South Korea’s top food delivery app owner Woowa Brothers.

He said rather than more acquisitions he would prefer to invest in technology and expanding into more products.

The company raised its 2020 sales forecast last month after coronavirus lockdowns and investment in ultra-fast deliveries led it to report strong quarterly figures.
