VC firm Z3 Partners has announced the final close of its Fund at Rs 550 crore. The Fund will primarily invest in 8 – 10 early-growth, digital and tech startups with a ticket size of Rs 50 – 80 crore ($6 – 10 million).
Global and domestic institutions and family offices have participated in the Fund, including HDFC Life and SIDBI.
The firm has already made five investments – cybersecurity startup Cyfirma, social e-commerce firm DealShare, agri-tech platform Gramophone, SaaS-based logistics management leader Shipsy, and DealShare, which turned Unicorn in 2022 after its $165 million Series E round.
Z3Partners invests across early-growth companies in Series A / B stage. The Fund’s core investment themes focus on SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, B2B commerce, agritech, big data, consumer-tech, and all things tech-enabled. Its portfolio companies include DealShare, Gramophone, Shipsy, TrueFan, OfBusiness, and Pepperfry among others.
Despite the funding slowdown, venture capital, private equity, and debt firms continued to make fund announcements. As per Fintrackr’s data, more than 100 India focused investment firms announced their new fundraising in 2022. It was a significant increase from 75 such funds in 2021.
