Hyper-casual gaming startup Simple Viral Games has raised Rs 4 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by WEH Ventures, with participation from Eximius Ventures and PointOne Capital.
According to the startup, the raised proceeds will be used to build distribution, expand the team, and add partnerships with gaming developers.
Founded in November by Rahul KR, a former product manager at Apna, a blue-collar platform, and Sourav Badami, formerly at GoJek, Simple Viral Games offers easy-to-play games that fall into the hyper-casual category.
“With the exception of games, almost every other content category has platforms focused on personalized infinite scrolls. We believe Rahul and Sourav have great chemistry and complementary skills to build a TikTok for gaming platforms for Bharat,” said Rohit Krishna, General Partner, WEH Ventures.
In December last year, The startup launched Time Pas, a casual game that lets users switch between games through a TikTok-like interface.
According to Rahul, the company will also try to create an offline version of Time Pass, which is currently available for iOS, Android and its website. In addition to Time Pass, it also has titles such as Element Block, Golf Adventures and Comfy Farm in its portfolio.
