NTT Data to begin a demonstration of an app to measures the heart rate and stress level

NTT Data Corp. is to begin a demo of an app that can analyse the heart rate and stress level of users by using a short video of their face taken with a smartphone.

Company plans to sell the app as a corporate service as early as October in the hope that it helps company employees manage their health amid the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to the company spoke person , app can measures five vital signs such as heart rate, respiration rate and blood oxygen saturation, based on criteria including the condition of the skin on the user’s cheek and muscle movement.

The app could be used by those who have developed novel coronavirus symptoms.It is also expected to add in the list to use the app for the measurement of blood pressure and blood alcohol concentration .

The spread of the infection may lead to a revision of the practice of face-to-face employee health guidance and health screenings at many companies.

NTT Data says that it will also make sure that the app can be used by occupational physicians to provide health guidance without face-to-face contact.

The company plans to provide the service to 400,000 people in 200 organisations by the end of fiscal 2022.
