Funding and acquisitions in Indian startups this week [13-18 Feb]

This week, 21 Indian startups raised funding of which 20 received a total of about $313 million. InsuranceDekho and PhonePe were the top fundraising startups that scooped up $150 million and $100 million respectively. This is a minor jump from $292 million in the last week.

Meanwhile, the details of one startup remained undisclosed. 

Growth/late-stage deals 

This week, only two late-stage startups announced their new fundraise. The list includes PhonePe’s $100 million and Prozo’s $5.4 million round.

Early-stage deals 

In the early stage, 19 startups have raised funds including one undisclosed round. Fintech InsuranceDekho was on top of the list with a $150 million Series A round. The list also includes Garurada Aerospace, Venwiz, Mufin Green Finance, and Stable Money among others. Interestingly, funding in the early stage was more than in the growth stage during the last week. 

Undisclosed deals    

RuKart did not disclose its financial details.   

City and segment-wise deals    

This week, Bengaluru-based startups dominated the funding chart. According to Fintrackr’s data, 10 Bengaluru-based startups have raised funds this week amounting to $123.3 million. During the week, Delhi-NCR-based startups raised $159 million across five deals.

Fintech startups were the top segment in terms of the number of deals and amount raised. E-commerce, Drone, EV, and SaaS startups were next on the list.

Acquisitions

Besides fundraising, the week also saw one merger and acquisitions deal as HRtech startup SumHR got acquired by Jupiter. 

Fund launches

Apart from funding and acquisitions, there were three fund launches during the last week. Kotak Alternate Assets announced its $590 million worth fund followed by Arka Investment’s $30 million and Recur Club’s $6 million.
