Artificial intelligence-based multilingual dubbing platform Dubdub.ai has raised $1 million in a seed round co-led by Waveform Ventures and Accel Atoms. Forward Slash Capital, Force Ventures, Aprameya Radhakrishna, Nishant Mungali, Deepak Anchala, Swati Mohan, Gaurav Kapur, and Roshan Abbas also participated in a year old startup.
According to Dubdub.ai, the proceeds will be utilised in creating tech capabilities, improving offerings and testing use-cases for global customers.
Founded in August 2021 by Anubhav, Rahul Sankhwar, Rahul Garg, and Anchal Jaiswal, Dubdub.ai leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence to create multilingual video content for businesses spanning across 40 languages.
At present, Dubdub.ai is in beta stage and claims that its software is up to 10X faster than traditional solutions and weeds out the need for a studio to record. According to the company’s website, it charges anywhere between $5 to 20 to dub a one-minute long video and takes up to 5 days to dub requests. Its customers include ShareChat, Fincare Bank, GamesKraft, Kutumb et al.
With the rise of the creators’ economy and digital businesses, the demand for editing, and dubbing platforms has been increasing at a quick clip. Invideo is the largest player in the overall creators’ tool ecosystem. Gurugram-based Dubverse.ai is one of the direct competitors for Dubdub.ai which also raised an $800K worth seed round led by Kalaari Capital in June last year.
