Former Google researchers founded Artificial intelligence startup Adept.ai has raised $350 million in a new funding round to build enterprise applications, train models, and recruit more AI talent. General Catalyst and Spark Capital led the Series B round, with participation from existing investors.

Adept focuses on training a neural network to perform general tasks for enterprise clients. The AI startup has been working with enterprises to use their data to help create a natural language interface to access existing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Airtable.

“Adept’s language models are geared towards creating ‘actions’ as opposed to generating text. This automation of actions enables an enterprise’s knowledge workers to be a lot more efficient and effective,” said Deep Nishar, Managing Director at General Catalyst.

The fundraising announcement comes almost a year after it raised $65 million in funding from Greylock and Addition. That round also saw participation from Root Ventures and angel investors.
