Virtual spiritual platform VAMA.app has raised $500K as a top-up to its seed round, which took place earlier this year. With this latest infusion, the startup has closed its seed round at $1.25 Million. In March, the startup had raised $750KHuddle & 7Square Ventures. Kunal Shah, founder, CRED, Varun Alagh among others.
The round was led by Filipino investor-entrepreneur Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, with participation from The Fund, a US-based pre-seed fund. VAMA’s existing backers 7Square Ventures, Supermorpheus, and Harit Nagpal also participated in this round.
Following the fundraise, the company plans to expand its service portfolio with the inclusion of features such as live streaming of ‘darshan’ and ‘aartis’ and online donation, it said in a press release.
Founded in late 2020 by Manu Jain, Himanshu Semwal and Acharya Dev, VAMA provides easy access to e-pujas, e-darshans, and astrology services to devotees from across India and the world.
The app, available on Android devices as of now, offers virtual puja remedies in renowned temples from all over the country and has so far enabled over 150,000 online consultations. It further plans to introduce live-streaming of ‘darshan’ and ‘aartis’ as well as the option for users to make online donations towards temples.
Additionally, the company also plans to broaden its services this year by collaborating with over 100 temples and venturing into international markets such as the Middle East, USA, and Canada.
