Patna-based online meat delivery startup Freshsharp has secured seed fund of $125K through equity led by Ok Acquired, Syed Akbar Raza Ahmad and Hussain Ahmad.
The proceeds will be deployed to strengthen its technology infrastructure and expansion, Freshsharp said in a press release. The company also claims that its valuation has touched $1 million after this financing round.
Founded by Majaz Hassan in 2020, Freshsharp sells meat, seafood and other fresh animal protein through its website. Apart from Bihar, the company has expanded to West Bengal and caters both segments consumers and businesses. Freshsharp claims to have seen a 200% growth and has served consumers across three cities in Bihar and Kolkata.
Online meat ordering space has been crowded with several large players including many city specific platforms. Licious, FreshToHome, BigBasket and Zappfresh are major players in the space whereas Good To Go, Meatigo, Jagfresh and Grubsoul are smaller players which operate in select cities. While the majority of them are marketplace, Licious and FreshToHome have been able to create their own brand.
