SoftBank recently unveiled STATION Ai, an innovative startup campus located in Nagoya, Japan. Designed to boost entrepreneurship, this center aims to support tech-focused startups with resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
STATION Ai is a 23,000-square-meter, seven-story campus that incorporates advanced IoT and AI systems. SoftBank’s vision for STATION Ai is to offer a “smart building” where startups can collaborate and innovate within a tech-friendly environment. The campus has room for over 500 startups and around 200 partner companies, fostering a highly connected ecosystem.
Located in Japan’s industrial center, STATION Ai allows startups to leverage Nagoya’s well-established automotive and manufacturing industries. SoftBank chose this location to provide entrepreneurs with access to local expertise and industry connections. This move aligns with Aichi Prefecture’s goal of stimulating economic growth and encouraging innovation outside Tokyo.
STATION Ai is already collaborating with 146 companies, creating a thriving community where startups and partners can benefit from shared knowledge and opportunities. This collaborative environment supports sectors like AI, robotics, and IoT. SoftBank’s network also offers startups essential guidance and access to potential investors.
The campus is scheduled to open to the public on November 1, marking a significant step for Japan’s regional tech development. By fostering innovation outside of Tokyo, STATION Ai supports SoftBank’s broader mission of cultivating tech leaders and advancing Japan’s position in the global startup landscape.
